Hiatus...

Because life is what it is sometimes, we find ourselves in need of a brief haitus from the blog. We'll be back as soon as possible, and in the mean time we hope you take the time each day to enjoy the beauty around you! Snap a photo of it now and again, too. ;)

New Theme: Series

series - (n.) A group or number of related or similar things, events, etc. arranged or
occurring in temporal, spacial or other order or succession; sequence.

We're doing something a little different this week. Instead of posting a single image each day, we'll be posting images in series. The theme for the images themselves is wide open. Feel free to play along! Post links to your series images in the comments area of any of this week's posts.

New Theme: Colors

This week, we're doing things a little differently. Our theme this week is colors, and how it will work is that each day will be assigned a color that we will focus our photography on that day. The schedule will be as follows:

Sunday: Red
Monday: Orange
Tuesday: Yellow
Wednesday: Green
Thursday: Blue
Friday: Purple
Saturday: Brown

Please join us in capturing these colors this week and share them with us by posting links to your images in the comments section for each day.

New Theme: Paper

It's all around us, every day. No matter what efforts are made at "going paperless," we'll never truly be rid of it...and that's fine by me! This week, we'll seek to creatively capture images of the paper in our lives. I'll be you have some too. Feel free to share links to your paper themed photos in the comments of any of this week's posts.

New Theme: Snow

Like much of the mid-Atlantic region, we got slammed with a huge snow storm late last week. It looks like we might be getting a follow-up storm this week, too. Snow is very much on our minds right now, and in our line of vision, so we thought it would be the perfect theme for this week's photos. If you're one of the many lucky people who are also digging their way out from all this white stuff, please join us in finding the beauty in it and post links to your snow photos in the comments area of any of this week's posts.

We see so many things every day, but we don't always take the time to really look at them. This week, we'll attempt to capture the beauty of the simple, everyday objects that are around us. As always, please feel free to join us and post links to your photos in the comments section of any post.

P.S. We are a little behind on processing our "cold" photos from last week...they will be coming, though! Honest!

New Theme: Alphabet

We hope you enjoyed your holiday break as much as we did ours! Time to get back to our weekly themes. This week, we'll be looking for letters of the alphabet in our surroundings. Feel free to play along and post the link to your alphabet images in the comments section of any of this week's posts.

For the rest of the year...

Being a busy time of year, we've decided that from now through the holiday season, we'll be doing a theme free-for-all. Essentially, we'll be posting whatever shots strike our fancy. We'll also be posting images we've previously taken that we'd like to share. So, for us and for you, it's the gift of freedom! Please join in and share your own favorite images now through the end of the year. Just link in the comments section of any post. Then plan to join us again for regularly scheduled themes in January.

This week's theme is a little bit different from our others. Instead of a specific topic, we'll be focusing on creating images without color. This week's theme seems like a gimme...autumn! Considering the crazy weather we've had here in western Pennsylvania this past week, though, we decided to focus on this theme now while we still can. New Theme: Outside

Our new theme for the week of September 27th - October 3 will be outside. What a great time of year for it, too! Photos of the world around us in autumn are some of my favorites to take. We hope you'll join in and post links to your outside photos in the comments of any of this week's posts. 

New Theme: Mornings

I think it is safe to say that this week's theme might be somewhat of a challenge for both Angela and me, if for no other reason than the fact that neither of us is naturally a morning person! Of course, still being awake at 2 a.m. does constitute morning as well, so it will be interesting to see what images we capture! We'd love to see your interpretation of this week's theme, too. Please feel free to post a link to your own morning photos in the comments of any of this week's posts.

(Note that our theme weeks have been running Monday - Sunday to this point. Beginning with this week's theme, we will be ending our week on Saturday and all future theme weeks will run Sunday - Saturday. This will enable us to format our archives on a weekly basis, with each week encompassing all posts from a singular theme.)

New Theme: Old

This first week of VOAT was fun for us! We're still working out the kinks in the project, but we're moving right along! The theme for the second week of this project, beginning today, 9/14, will be old. Feel free to join in by posting links to your own old-themed photos -- however you interpret "old" --  in the comments of any of this week's posts.
